The sternpost is lifted into place.
Remember my earlier post about the Sternpost and the mortise and tenon joint? Well now that the keel is down, it’s time to put the sternpost in position. Here’s a reminder of where these will fit in the final ship, with pictures of the actual keel and sternpost.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t around to see the sternpost lifted onto the keel, but there were pictures taken and if I can get hold of them, I’ll make sure to put them up in a later post. The next stage in the build will be to lay the deadwood on the keel. This should be happening shortly and as soon as it does, I’ll be there to document it for you.
